It was a close game that could have salvaged much of the season for BYU. Minus David Walker the score might have been 13-0. The Ute senior scored one TD on a 45-yard interception return in the first half, then returned a putnt 85 yards to provide the ballance of Utah's TD scoring.
Ute Marv Bateman averaged 51 yards on five punts.
Pete Van Valkenburg, who had 89 yards rushing, scored one TD and Joe Liljenquist added one PAT and two field goals (26 and 42 yards) for the balance of the scoring for BYU.
Utah fumbled five times, losing them all.
