Game wasn't decided until Chris Farasopoulos intercepted a pass on the goal line with 11 seconds left.
Plenty of rain, snow and cold. Quarterback poor in the first half of the season, BYU called on sophomore Brian Gunderson who hadn't played a competitive game in five years. He was 6-for-12 and called an excellent game, but it was the rushing of Pete VanValkenburg that made the difference (178 yards on 36 carries).
Other heros: Joe Liljenquist with nine points including two field gals, linebacker Ron Tree with a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown, and Chris Farasopoulos with two interceptions and 135 return yards.
VanValkenburg was named WAC back of the week.
