Chilly, overcast weather kept the attendance down for the Cougars' final home game. BYU dominatod the first half as Wilson tied an NCAA record with 27 pass completions in the first half. Marc's third TD pass of the day came with 1:40 left in the first half. But the second half was all Long Beach State. The 49ers tied the score 24-24 on a Woody Tressler field goal in the third period. Then Tressler put LBS ahead with a 32-yarder. "We had our backs to the wall, but we came alive when we needed it," said Edwards after the game. |
