Six touchdown passes were thrown by Robbie Bosco to a trio of receivers, Glen Kozlowski, David Mills and Kelly Smith.

Kicker Lee Johnson had a streak of 23 consecutive PATs broken by two blocked kicks and one miss.

Reserve running back Robert Parker netted 131 yards rushing, mainly in the second half due to sweeps.

In all, BYU completed passes to 12 different receivers and picked off four interceptions.

QB Blame Fowler played half of the fourth quarter.

BYU ascended to its highest ranking ever following this game with a sixth-place polling by Associated Press (BYU was eighth in UPI). The Cougars assumed the nation's longest current winning streak with a string of 13 wins. BYU's record is now 2-0.
