BYU hadn't scored two shutouts in a season since 1962.
In this game against Wyoming, the Cougars allowed only three of 17 Cowboy possessions to penetrate BYU territory, and they resulted in a punt, a missed field goal and a fumble.
Wide receivers Glen Kozlowski and Mark Bellini returned to the starting lineups following several weeks' absence due to injury.
BYU scored on its first three possessions.
Kozlowski reinjured his knee 11 minutes into the third quarter and didn't have a reception.
Fullback Lakel Heimuli rushed for three touchdowns, and Robbie Bosco passed for three TDs. Bosco had his best day ever percentage-wise passing 17 of 21 for 81 percent completion in playing a little over two quarters.
Cougar quarterbacks Blame Fowler and Steve Lindsley also got playing time.
Wyoming quarterbacks were sacked seven times. Safety Rob Ledenko intercepted a Cowboy pitch and returned it 27 yards for BYU's final score.
BYU now 7-2 overall, 4-1 in the WAC and ranked 18th in both polls.
