Night game (64 degrees, clear) at University Stadium, Albuquerque, NM, (15,902).

Without the offensive production of Peter Tuipulotu (out with a bruised thigh), BYU relied on Mark Atuaia and Jamal Willis, who combined for 216 of the 263 yards rushing by BYU.

Ty Detmer passed for 375 yards and four touchdowns and Eric Drage caught nine passes for 230-yards--which ranks sixth best in school history.

Detmer's touchdowns were to Byron Rex, Eric Mortensen, Itula Mili and Tyler Anderson.

BYU's other touchdown came on a nine-yard run by Atuaia.

Earl Kauffman kicked a 48-yard field goal and Keith Lever booted a 27-yarder.

Detmer added an NCAA record as his 375 yards through the air gave him a career total of 1,495 yards against one opponent (UNM).

The top defensive play was by Scott Sralla, who intercepted a pass at the goal line and returned it 40 yards. BYU is now 5-3 (4-0).
