Night game (35°, partly cloudy with a 12 mph wind) at Hughes Stadium, Fort Collins (ESPN-25,203)

Ty Detmer sizzled the air waves as he connected on 23 of 28 passes for 337 yards and three touchdowns for a pass efficiency rating of 216.

BYU took the opening kickoff and marched 70 yards, scoring when Detmer found Eric Drage.

Colorado State came right back with a 29-yard field goal by Mike Brown.

BYU took the ensuing kickoff and marched 75 yards. Detmer connected with Micah Matsuzaki, who fumbled just before the goalline but Nali Valdez pounced on the ball for a 13-3 lead.

BYU scored twice in the second quarter--after a 99-yard drive when Detmer passed to Drage for 19 yards and when BYU's defense forced Colorado State to punt and BYU's offense took over at the Rams' 47-yard line with just 28 seconds left in the half.

Three plays later the Detmer-Drage combination connected and BYU took a 26-3 lead into the locker room.

In the third quarter, Dewey Gray picked up a fumble and raced 62 yards for a touchdown.

Late in the quarter, Jamal Willis leaped over from the one for a 40-3 lead. CSU scored twice in the fourth quarter. BYU is now 6-3 (5-0).
