The Cougars lose back-to-back home games for the first time in LaVell Edwards' 21 years.

UCLA scores a 22-yard field goal in the first quarter.

Daron Washington rushes for a three-yard touchdown just before the half.

BYU is shut out in the first half for the first time in 40 games.

BYU fumbles the opening kickoff in the second half on its 23-yard line. UCLA capitalizes with a touchdown run by Washington.

BYU finally scores off a 42-yard field goal in the third quarter.

Derwin Gray intercepts UCLA quarterback Rob Walker at the UCLA 42-yard line and the Cougars score with a 19-yard pass from John Walsh to Eric Drage, their sixth in three games.

BYU's Vic Tarleton blocks a 49-yard field goal attempt with 11:34 remaining in the game. Minutes later, John Walsh suffers a right shoulder separation.

Steve Clements leads BYU to the UCLA 10-yard line. With the first down and 1:13 remaining, Clements is intercepted by Marvin Goodwin in the end zone.

BYU's 10 points are the fewest since UCLA defeated the Cougars 31-10 in the 1986 Freedom Bowl.

BYU is now 1-2.
