Night game (78°, fair and humid with 12 mph wind from the northeast) (43,891).

BYU trails at halftime after losing Steve Clements to a shoulder dislocation and Kalin Hall to a concussion.

Shad Hansen recovers a fumble to start the second half.

Jamal Willis runs for the two-yard touchdown and the Cougars score on a 42-yard field goal by David Lauder.

Disaster strikes again in the fourth quarter when Hawaii scores two touchdowns off BYU turnovers and lead, 29-10.

BYU answers with a 55-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Hancock to Otis Sterling at the 8:40 mark.

Cougar Matt Redden blocks a Hawaii punt and Ted Dawson recovers, bulldozing his way to the two-yard line.

Willis then dives two yards for his second touchdown.

BYU gets another Hawaii fumble and takes the lead for the first time after Byron Rex makes a 27-yard touchdown catch with 5:01 remaining.

The Cougars appear to have a victory when Nathan Hall strips the ball from the Rainbows and Todd Herget recovers the fumble.

A BYU fumble, however, gives new life to the Rainbows, who score on a pass from Ivin Jasper to Marlowe Lewis.

The Cougars are now 1-3.
