About CougarStats

What you won't find in this site:
Chat rooms, message boards, commentary, or (yawn) recruiting info. The goal of this site is to simply provide as many BYU football and basketball statistics as possible. You can find sites dedicated to some of these topics on the links page.

About the lists:
At the bottom of each list you will find a description of what is contained in that list. For the most part, the football lists contain all career or season stats for every player who recorded a stat in that category since 1962. Basketball contains stats from 1948 to the present.

Some things you should know:
CougarStats is not a commercial site. It is just a thing a guy decided to do. CougarStats works because of a system of automated scripts that allows the guy to update many lists and tables quickly and easily. If each page needed to be updated manually, the guy wouldn't bother. With that in mind, please realize that there are some limitations to this site.

Only statistical information that the guy can maintain within the parameters of his system will be included. The whole point of this site is to provide information that is always current. Some statistical categories can't be included at this time without more effort than the guy can reasonably put into this site and are therefor omitted.

About the creator:
The site is designed, created and maintained by Courtney Holzendorf. A former online editor in the sports department at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, he is now a newspaper systems consultant with Digital Technology International. Courtney is a graduate of Brigham Young University and also attended BYU-Hawaii.

Original basketball statistical information was provided by Bill Sorenson who has spent a lifetime collecting this information. Many thanks go out for his effort.

Most of the original football statistical information was provided by KSL Statistician Ralph Sokolowsky.

Technical assistance provided by Rich Danielson, applications engineer at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Rich is a Florida Gator who is not at all interested in BYU sports.
